Important Cyclist Information

The 2012 Shenandoah Valley Pumpkin Pedal course opens at 7:00am.

Cyclists riding the 100km and 112km routes are expected to start between 7:00am and 8:00am.

Cyclists riding the 50km route are expected to start by 9:00am.

Lunch, provided by NorCal AIDS Cycle 2012 caterer Maranello's Restaurant, will be served from 11:00am until 3:30pm, so plan and manage your speed and time.

 Things to keep in mind:

    • Helmets are REQUIRED for all cyclists.
    • While there will be multiple support vehicles on the route at all times and emergency bike tech available, cell reception in the area is spotty, so bring your spare tube and patch kit.
    • We encourage you to make new friends along the way and stop to offer assistance to other Pumpkin Pedalers who look like they could use hand or some company.
    • Cue sheets, small scale route maps, waivers, and ample route marking will be provided.
    • Local weather in October tends to be chilly in the morning and warm-to-hot by midday so prepare to dress accordingly.
